What's the last movie you saw in theatres? How was it? Who did you go with?
I actually don't remember... I think maybe Gnomeo and Juliet? I haven't been to a movie in so long! One of my best friends and I started having "monthly movie night" where each month the two of us, sometimes joined by other friends, go see a movie. We started in november with Harry Potter, December was the King's Speech (<3!), etc. Then we hit April and got too busy so said we'd do two in may, then missed may as well, so now we have three movies to catch up on.
Anyways back to the point, Gnomeo and Juliet was probably the last movie I saw in theatre, I went with a couple friends which was nice. The movie was really cute, not as beautifully tragic as the play it's based off of but a fun adaptation.

If you could be any character from any movie (excluding Harry Potter), which would you be and why?
So some children who watch Return of the Jedi see the ewoks and have a reaction of "Those are so cute! They look like teddy bears! I WANT one!" I was not one of these children. My reaction was more along the lines of "I love them! I want to BE one!" To this day I still think it'd be fun to be an ewok.

What movie(s) do you most regret watching?
Any and every horror movie I have had to sit through to appease my friends. I do not enjoy horror movies. At all.
Also some movies I've had to watch in English; Apocalypse Now and Lord of the Flies. The first I just didn't enjoy and LOTF don't even get me started on! It's one of the very few books I've started and never actually finished, I just can't do it.

What movie is coming up that you're really looking forward to?
Well short term I'm looking forward to Pirates of the Carribean since I'm going to it this weekend but more importantly this one:
Favourite film based on a book? And what film based on a book shouldn't have even been attempted being made or was completely ruined by the making of a film?
Pretty standard answer for the first part; Harry Potter series and Lord of the Rings series. Both beautifully done (even though David Yates made some terrible choices in The Half Blood Prince...the burning Burrow scene still makes me angry).
For the second part The Golden Compass. I was so stoked to see it, so excited for one of my favourite books to be brought to life on screen... and then I saw it. And it was bad. Really bad. They changed a lot and while movies cannot stay completely true to the plot of a book they need to keep the essence of what the book is and in the Golden Compass so much was changed that you lost what the story really is. What bothered me the most was where they choose to end the movie. The end of the story is so poignangt and heartwrenching and tragic and crucial in giving depth and meaning to the story but the movie just cut it for the sake of having a happy ending. Generally I am an optimist, but there are times when happy endings actually are not preferable, there is a hidden beauty in certain forms of tradgedy.

And on that cheery note I leave you all,

The Golden Compass is such a beautiful book; the movie really did ruin it. Bah.
