Happy Friday!

Hello!

So, if you're reading this with the thought that your life will be forever changed by my deep insights in to the human mind, well I think you are reading the wrong blog. If you're reading this with absolutely no expectation of literary genius or anything above the common man, then you are currently in the proper mental state to read my my 'barbaric whelp.' Now that we have that covered...

My name is Colin, I am 16, nearly 17, and I live Connecticut, USA. I am a Junior in high school and a general academic slacker. I used to play hockey, but I stopped since my high school has an insanely good hockey team that I probably would make, and if I did, I doubt I would enjoy playing. I am generally a happy-ish person and as emotionally open as a brick wall. I love biology and I would love to become a biology teacher. I'm an atheist, with makes going to a Jesuit school a bit harder, but I love the school anyway. Anywho...

I love all kinds of music, some of my favorite bands being Rise Against, The Killers, and yes Chuck, Tokyo Police Club. (Not-so interesting facts #1: Tokyo Police Club actually filmed one of their music videos at my high school. I was friends with a kid who was in it. I was in 8th grade at the time, sadly.)

Next up, books! Frankly, I don't have a favorite book, or even a list of favorite books, rather a list of favorite authors. First and foremost, Shakespeare, Poe in a close second, and Dickinson placing third. I'm not saying that is all I read, but they are my favorite. I love reading stories and poetry from the romantic period.

So... I did books, music, oh yeah! Movies! So picking my favorite movie is like picking my favorite food, they are all good for different reasons, but there is usually one that rises above the rest. My favorite movie would have to be Serenity, and I recommended it to anyone who hasn't seen it.

Sorry for these paragraphs being short and kinda bad, I have tons of homework that I want to do today so I can sleep on Sunday. I'm taking the SATs tomorrow, so any tips would be nice, although Chuck won't post until Monday so that will be too late. Anyway... My favorite TV show(s) are, in order, Dr. Who (My friend who lives in the UK got me hooked on the show, and I recommend it to anyone who hasn't seen it yet.) Community (Of course, anything with Chevy Chase in it will be hilarious) Lie to Me (Brilliant plots and acting) and House. Oh! I almost forgot Firefly. I didn't really forget it, I just wasn't sure if I should put it down since it was canceled a while ago. That would be 2nd on my list if it wasn't cancelled. It's a space western, there is absolutely nothing bad about it. All 4 of you need to go onto Hulu and watch at least one episode of Firefly if you haven't already seen it.

So, as I wrap up this self obsessed blog, I want to suggest a theme for next weeks blogs, but I can't think of one! I did however, come up with an idea to shift responsibility from me, to the unsuspecting Chuck. I think that on Monday, Chuck should pick a theme for the week, then next week, whoever blogs on Tuesday would pick the theme, and so on and so forth. I do like the idea of questioner week, so my question would be, "In a utopian's society that you create, what role, if any, would emperor penguins play in it?"
